Is Joint Fluid Therapy Right For You?
Joint Fluid Therapy is for people with mild to severe osteoarthritis of the knee.
You may be a good candidate for Joint Fluid Therapy if:
Your knee pain is due to osteoarthritis
You are not getting adequate OA knee pain relief from walking and/or physical therapy
You have not responded to pain medications, such as ibuprofen, Tylenol, naproxen or NSAIDs
If your OA is mild to moderate, Joint Fluid Therapy can relieve pain and improve function indefinitely.
If your OA is severe, Joint Fluid Therapy can provide enough pain relief to enable you to put off knee replacement surgery. It's not a permanent alternative to surgery, because OA will continue to progress. Joint Fluid Therapy can give you months or years pain relief, until surgery becomes your best option.
We will recommend Joint Fluid Therapy only if we believe it will significantly reduce or eliminate your knee pain.
Who should not have Joint Fluid Therapy
Because the fluid in Joint Fluid Therapy is Hyaluronic Acid, which is derived from rooster combs, people allergic to poultry cannot have this treatment.
It is also not recommended for people with skin infections or skin diseases around the injection site.
